One-Pot Cheeseburger Macaroni

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar Ragu Homestyle Thick and Hearty Traditional Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 pounds elbow macaroni (penne or rotini also work)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley or scallions to garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large pot or dutch oven, over medium high heat, heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant and translucent, about 2 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Season well with salt and pepper.
  2. Add the Ragu sauce,Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, broth and milk and give it a good stir. Then, stir in the pasta and bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover and lower the heat to a simmer. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes (adding more liquid if necessary) or until the pasta is al dente and liquid has reduced.
  3. Remove pot from heat and stir in the diced tomatoes. Then, add the cheese, cover and let it stand for 2 minutes so the cheese can melt. Garnish with chopped parsley or scallions and serve immediately!
